As a believer you need to understand the nature of your covenant relationship with God through Christ, that you may enjoy its benefits. Nothing empowers like this covenant! If you desire to manifest being filled with the fullness of God Eph.3:19, you need to know what has been deposed to you in God’s Will: that Christ has imputed righteousness on you. It is s free gift, not earned, but given by the mercy of God because of the shedding of the Blood of Jesus.

A member of the household of God, you represent Him on earth; you are of ‘divine nature’, ‘in Him (you) live and move and have (your) being’ Acts.17:28. The image of God put on you gives you value. Whereas sin- consciousness stops you from expecting to experience God’s goodness, ‘in Christ’ you know that you have been justified – forgiven evey iniquity – therefore you expect God’s favour in every situation.

The gift of righteousness is given for you to reign in life Rom.5:17. You are assured that because you ‘abide under the shadow of the Almighty’, He will deliver you from every evil, be your Refuge day and night, charge His angels to guard you, answer when you call, be with you in trouble and satisfy you with long life Ps.91.

Righteousness is one of the channels of your empowerment; it is your qualification for receiving of God, for the Blessing is conveyed on the righteous. By it:

* God secures and protects you: ‘The Name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run to it and are safe’ Prov.18:10;

* You enjoy the favour of God Ps.5:12; are poised to receive all that He promised. You ‘shall not be ashamed in the evil time, and in the days of famine (you) shall be satisfied.’ Ps.37:19, 29;

* Divine direction is your portion: ‘The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way… ‘ Ps.37:23;

* God hears your cry, for His eyes are on you Ps.34:15. He delivers you out of all your troubles v.17, 19;

* You enjoy fellowship with God, His presence; you are anointed with the oil of gladness Ps.45:7, for in His presence is unlimited joy;

* You are always provided for. ‘There is no want to those who fear Him… those who seek the Lord shall not lack anything good’ Ps.34:9-10. In the house of the righteous, ‘there is much treasure.’ Prov.15:6;

* You are kept on a shining path that leads to life Prov.4:18. You shine forever Dan.12:3;

* You have peace, quietness and assurance forever Is.32:17-18.

You are exempted from evil because you are the righteousness of God by faith in Christ 2Cor.5:21. Be righteousness-conscious; hold on to your faith, the key to your safety in these perilous times!
