In
previous posts we established that the issues of our lives are birthed by the
words of God proceeding from the mouth of the prophetsActs.3:25; that everything concerning us, every
situation in which we have, and will find ourselves has already been foretold;
that the legal route to
enter into our inheritance is by faith and patience.Jesus confirms this, saying, the things written about Him must be
accomplished for they have an endLk.22:37.How to keep
believing what God‘s word says about you, who you now know you were created to
be?

You need reinforce
knowledge of who you are because, like Jesus, everyone with a mandate in God’s
Kingdom will face oppositionJn.16:33.There is an enemy: ‘…we do not wrestle against flesh and
blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the
darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly
places.’
Eph.6:12.
The battle is spiritual, and, as you must already be aware, this realm responds
to the power of the spoken word. As a believer, you already have ‘the authority to trample on serpents and
scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy…’
Lk.10:19.
Authority is latent until exercised. God’s word in your mouth has overcoming
power1Cor.4:20;
you keep silent at your peril, jeopardise a glorious destiny.

But
the mouth speaks what the heart believes. The enemy within is far more
dangerous than the one that comes against us in open confrontation. He enters into
the heart as a thought or imagination, a seed planted by what is seen or heard.
Apostle Paul to the church at Corinth: ‘…
though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
[For the weapons of our warfare are not
carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.] Casting down imaginations,
and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and
bringing into captivity every thought to
the obedience of Christ.’
2Cor.10:3-5.Difficult
but not impossible to demolish, strongholds are not brought down by physical
strength, but by wisdom. Until the stronghold which provides the shield is
brought down, none can penetrate a city: ‘A
wise man scales the city of the mighty, and brings down the trusted
stronghold.’
Prov.21:22.Jesus warned in His message to the church: ‘I
have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls
herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants…’
Rev.2:20.

The one that teaches influences the
mind; the one that seduces deceives. Clearly, the Body of Christ is
compromised, having allowed strongholds of false doctrine to shield many minds. The enemy knows the mind is the sphere
of our being, where the eyes of our understanding are enlightened; it is the
seat of power, for, ‘as he thinks in his
heart so is he’
Prov.23:7. If we are exposed to teaching which opposes God, and we allow
our minds to be influenced to the extent that such teaching becomes the core of
our being, we have put off the light in us. The mind is the realm from where
God’s gift to man – his identity – is stolen from him.
